Horizon Karon Beach Resort & Spa

The rooms at Horizon Karon Beach Resort & Spa measure between 40 and 70 m² and sleep from two to five guests, with garden, pool and ocean views in some of them. Bed set-ups include queen and king beds, and some rooms offer a choice of set-ups. Some overlook the pool or the garden, while the Deluxe Premier has an ocean view.

The bathrooms in the rooms with a private bathroom have a bathtub, bathrobes and a hair dryer, and several add a walk-in shower or a shower. Some rooms also provide wireless internet access, satellite or cable channels and an electric kettle. Towels and toiletries are also provided in several rooms.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a 24-hour front desk, room service and a bar, along with a poolside bar and a snack bar. Restaurants serve meals on site, and concierge, luggage storage, safety deposit boxes and business facilities are also available. A garden is part of the grounds.

Parking is free on site for guests, valet parking is also offered, and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and in public areas. Buffet and continental breakfast are offered, and English, Chinese (Mandarin) and Thai are spoken, and 24-hour security is provided.

Karon is one of the main beach areas on Phuket, with a long stretch of sand and a mix of hotels, shops and restaurants along the streets behind it. The beach is a short walk from the resort, and the area is a practical place for a beach holiday with easy access to the rest of the island.

Kata Beach, the next beach along, is 700 m away. Wat Chalong, one of the most revered temples on the island, is 4.7 km away, and the Big Buddha Phuket, a large white statue on a hilltop, is 1.8 km from the hotel. Patong Beach, with its nightlife, is 6.2 km away. Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha are both reached by road, so a car, scooter or taxi is the easiest way to visit them.

A good day could start with a swim at Karon Beach, continue to the Big Buddha Phuket on its hill, and end with dinner in Karon or Kata. For a livelier evening out, Patong Beach has more bars and nightlife. For a quieter stroll, the Karon Night Market, 1.5 km away, sells food and goods along its lanes, and the Karon Viewpoint on the hill above the bay offers wide views along the coast.
