The rooms at Hive Khaolak Beach Resort (Adults Only) overlook the pool, the garden or the surrounding nature, and several have a bathtub in a private bathroom with bathrobes. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and the rooms sleep two or three guests.

Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park is 1.4 km from the resort, a forested park with a coastal viewpoint, and the Tsunami Memorial, 1.1 km away, is a reminder of the disaster that struck this coast. Ton Chong Fa Waterfall lies inland in the hills, and Similan National Park, 4.4 km away, is the gateway to the Similan Islands, which are reached by boat from this coast.

The beaches and parks are spread along the coast road, so a taxi or hired car is a practical way to reach them. A good day could start at the national park, then a swim at Nang Thong Beach, 1.8 km away, and an afternoon at Hat Lek, the nearest beach to the resort. Boat trips to the Similan Islands can be cancelled when the sea is rough, which can change plans for a day out.
