Kalim Beach, 2.1 km away, is a calmer stretch of sand, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), 6.5 km away, is one of the island's most important Buddhist temples.

A good day could start on Patong Beach in the morning, continue with a visit to Wat Chalong and a stop at the Phuket FantaSea show in the evening, which is a large cultural show and theme park. Phuket International Airport is 24.4 km away by road, and the island is joined to the mainland by bridge, so arrivals from Krabi come by road too.
