Heimat Garden Resort

The rooms at Heimat Garden Resort include a 20 m² Superior Double with a garden view, a 24 m² double room with a garden view, and a 12 m² room that can accommodate up to three guests. Several rooms have a garden view, and some have a balcony or terrace.

Rooms can have air conditioning, blackout curtains, a desk, a closet, a fan and a refrigerator, and satellite or cable channels are available. Daily housekeeping is part of the stay at the resort, and the rooms are cleaned on a daily basis.

Heimat Garden Resort is on Koh Yao Yai, an island in Phang Nga province that lies close to Phuket but is not joined to it by road. The island has several villages of its own, and the resort is set in gardens for travellers who want to be away from the busy beach areas of the main island.

The nearest beach is Loh Pared Beach, 500 m from the resort. On Phuket, Chaithararam Temple, also called Wat Chalong, is one of the most revered temples on the island, 30.1 km from the resort, and Patong, Phuket's best-known beach resort area, is 31.6 km away. Big Buddha, a large white statue on a hilltop, is another sight on the main island, and Phuket International Airport is 32.8 km away. Krabi International Airport is 46.7 km away on the mainland.

A day trip to Phuket can combine Wat Chalong, Big Buddha and Patong, but because the crossing is by boat, it is simplest to plan the day in advance and keep the island base for the evening. Loh Pared Beach is the closest sand to the resort, so it is the natural first choice for an afternoon by the sea, with the gardens of the resort as the place to return to in the evening.
