The village has a more residential feel than Patong, with small shops, food stalls and guesthouses along its streets, and the Kamala Mosque is nearby as well, so the pace here is calmer than in the resort centres.

Phuket FantaSea, a large cultural theme park, is 900 m away, and the Big Buddha, a white statue on a hilltop, is 13.8 km away. Patong, 4.8 km away, is the island’s best-known beach resort, with busy nightlife and shopping for a lively evening. Phuket International Airport is 18.1 km away, and because Phuket is linked to the mainland by road, the island is simple to reach by car.

A full day could start with a swim at Kamala Beach, continue to Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, one of Phuket’s most visited temples, and finish with an evening show at Phuket FantaSea. With free parking available at the property, a hire car is an easy way to cover the island’s beaches and temples at your own pace.
