The sea and the limestone cliffs are the main draw of the area, and the village has plenty of places to eat. Krabi International Airport is 19.3 km away, and the road from it runs into the village.

Ao Nang Beach is 50 m from Fullmoon Beachresort Krabi, and the Ao Nang Night Market, 750 m away, opens with food stalls and shops in the evening. Railay Beach, 3 km away, is reached by boat from Ao Nang and is known for its limestone cliffs and clear water. Phra Nang Cave is also reached by boat, on the same limestone coast.

A good day could start with a longtail boat from Ao Nang Beach Pier to Railay, then an evening at the night market and a drink at the on-site bar. Further afield, the Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 15.4 km away, is a Buddhist temple complex set into a limestone hill, and the Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot), a natural pool fed by a hot spring, lies further inland.
