The town is a working place rather than a resort strip, with markets, temples and food stalls close to the hotel, so the atmosphere is more local than seaside. The streets around the markets come alive in the evening, when the stalls open and the area fills with people.

Within a short walk are the Contemporary Art Museum of Krabi, 400 m away, and Wat Kaew Korawaram, a temple 450 m from the hotel. Krabi International Airport is 8.7 km away, and the hotel offers an airport transfer. For the beaches, Railay Beach, 9.8 km away, can only be reached by boat and is known for its limestone cliffs, while Ao Nang Beach, 10.1 km away, is the busier stretch of sand on this coast. The hillside Tiger Cave Temple, also known as Wat Tham Suea, lies a little further out of town.

A good day starts at the morning market and the temples in town, followed by a longtail boat trip to Poda Island or Tup Island, departing from Ao Nang. Rough seas in the rainy months can cancel boat trips, so the islands are the part of the day to keep flexible. Railay is the other obvious choice for a beach day, since the boat ride itself is part of the outing.
