Feelgood@Journey Hostel

The rooms at Feelgood@Journey Hostel range from a dormitory and a room for one guest to twin, triple and family rooms. Depending on the room, you can expect air conditioning, a private bathroom, a balcony, a telephone or a TV, and some rooms look out over the city or the garden.

Twin rooms have two single beds and the triple rooms have three single beds, while the dormitory sleeps up to five. Non-smoking rooms are available, rooms can come with free bottled water, and some rooms include linens, complimentary tea and instant coffee. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and the mixed dormitory shares its room with travellers of both sexes.

Feelgood@Journey Hostel is in Taladyai, a neighbourhood of Phuket Town, the island's main town. The streets around it are lined with Sino-Portuguese shophouses, and the Old Town is an easy walk away, so the hostel works well as a base for travellers who want to stay in town rather than on the beaches. Several small museums are within a short walk, including the Peranakan Museum and the Thavorn Phuket Museum, and everyday life here runs through shops, cafés and street-food stalls.

The Philatelic Museum is 100 m away, and Thalang Road, the old town's shophouse street, is a short walk. The local bus station is 250 m from the hostel, and Phuket International Airport (HKT) is 27.1 km away. Patong Beach, on the west coast, is 10.8 km away, and the island's best-known temple, Wat Chalong, is also a trip away.

A good day here can start with a walk through the Old Town along Thalang Road, past the museums and the pagoda of Wat Mongkol Nimit, and end at the Lard Yai Sunday night market, a short walk from the hostel. For a beach day, Patong Beach is a longer trip from the town, so it is worth planning the day around it.
