A good day could begin at the temples nearest the hotel, then move on to the wider Historic City, where Wat Mahathat and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, a royal temple within the old palace grounds, stand among the ruins. Wat Chaiwatthanaram, with its Khmer-style prang, makes a separate outing, and an afternoon at the floating market and elephant village offers a lighter change of pace. Ayutthaya Train Station is a practical link to Bangkok.
