Poomchanok Market is 750 m away, and the night food market, 1.1 km away, is a good place to eat in the evening. Rattana Rangsarn Throne Hall, about 2 km away, is one of the town's larger royal-style buildings, and the City Pillar Shrine, a little further on, is a traditional shrine built around the city pillar. The Raksa Warin hot spring, 3.2 km away, is one of the best-known places in the province for a soak.

Ferry piers along the coast serve the islands offshore, so a boat trip can be combined with a few days in town. The airport at Ranong is reached by road from the guesthouse. A good first day could start with the markets in the morning, continue to the hot spring in the afternoon and end with dinner at the night food market.
