Thong Sala is the main town of Ko Pha-ngan and its ferry port, a working town with shops and street life rather than a quiet beach strip. Boats to the mainland and to nearby islands leave from the pier, so the town is the main point of arrival and departure by boat. Several Muay Thai gyms are close by, including Jomhod Muay Thai and The Fight Club, and Kobra Muay Thai Stadium is also nearby.
