Chongfah Resort Khao Lak

Each room at Chongfah Resort Khao Lak has either a sea view or a garden view, and the rooms measure between 59 and 75 m². The bungalows and deluxe rooms sleep between three and six guests, and several of them offer a choice of bed set-ups.

Rooms with a whirlpool bathtub have a private bathroom with bathrobes, toiletries and a hair dryer. The resort's garden, terrace and pools are there for all guests to use, and the rooms with a garden view overlook the grounds. Guests in the bungalows and deluxe rooms can use the 24-hour front desk, the restaurant and the bar.

Khao Lak is a stretch of coast in Phang Nga province, on the Andaman side of mainland Thailand, where the sand, the resorts and the village lanes meet along the shore. The area is more about the beach and the forest than the streets, with a few resorts and village lanes rather than a town centre. Chongfah Resort Khao Lak is in the Bang Niang area, 10 m from the beach.

Within a short distance of the resort there are several places worth a visit. The International Tsunami Museum, 1.2 km away, documents the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami that struck this coast, and the afternoon market in Bang Niang village is a local stop. For forest walks, Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, 4.5 km away, has trails and waterfalls, including Ton Chong Fa, and Similan National Park, 10.2 km away, is a group of islands reached by boat and known for its diving.

Getting to Khao Lak from the airport is by road: Phuket International Airport is 62.1 km away, and the resort offers an airport transfer. A day can start with a walk to the beach, then the afternoon market in Bang Niang, a visit to the tsunami museum, and an afternoon on the forest trails of the national park before returning to the resort.
