Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi, where a long curve of sand sits below limestone cliffs and a lively strip of street-food stalls and massage shops runs behind the beach. Noppharathara Beach and Ao Nang Beach are the closest stretches of sand, and the Ao Nang Night Market sits in the middle of the town's evening life. From Ao Nang Beach Pier, longtail boats make the trip to Poda and Tup islands. Railay Beach, 3.6 km away, is reached by longtail boat from Ao Nang, with its limestone cliffs rising straight from the water. Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 15 km away, is a hillside temple with a long stairway up to its cave shrines.

A good day could start with a longtail boat from the pier to the islands, then return for an evening walk along the beach and through the night market.
