Patong is one of Phuket's best-known beach towns, a lively place of restaurants, bars and shops along its streets and sand. Chang Residence is on Nanai Road, in the town itself, so the beach, the nightlife and the shops are all close by. The area works well for a holiday that centres on the beach and the evenings.

Patong Beach is 1.1 km away, a stretch of sand with beach bars along it. Bangla Road, 1.3 km away, is the street of bars and night clubs that gives Patong its evening character, and Jungceylon Shopping Center, the large mall in Patong, is also nearby. Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), 5.6 km away, is one of the most important Buddhist temples on the island, and Big Buddha, on a hilltop 6.3 km away, is a large white statue with views across the hills.

A good plan is to see the temple and Big Buddha in the morning, then head to Karon Beach and Kata Beach, which are further along the coast, before an evening on Bangla Road. Phuket is joined to the mainland by a bridge, and the airport is reached by road: Phuket International Airport is 25.4 km away, and the hotel offers an airport transfer.
