Chamil House

The rooms at Chamil House all have a mountain view and air conditioning. They range from a 16 m² room with a king bed to two 28 m² rooms, one with a king bed and one with two single beds. Guests in every room can enjoy the mountain view from their window.

Each room sleeps up to two guests and has its own private bathroom with a shower, toiletries and towels, plus a flat-screen TV, an electric kettle and a coffee or tea maker. Across the property, rooms can also have a desk, a seating area or a balcony or terrace.

The property also has an on-site salon, a convenience store, daily housekeeping, and laundry and ironing services. Car hire is offered, and guests can use the garden and the terrace outdoors.

Mai Khao is a quiet part of Thalang district in Phuket, on a long sandy beach that is one of the island's sea turtle nesting areas, and the coast here is calmer than the resort strips to the south. Chamil House stands 250 m from the Yacht Haven Marina Phuket, so the marina is the nearest landmark for finding the guesthouse, and its boats give the area a waterfront feel.

Mai Khao Plaza is 4.2 km away for everyday shopping, and the Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation, 4.6 km away, works to protect turtles along the coast. Phuket International Airport is 7.5 km away, and a car or scooter makes it easier to reach the rest of the island, including the busier resort beaches of Patong and Karon.

A good day here could start with a walk on the beach at Mai Khao, followed by the Tha Chat Chai mangrove forest trail, 5.7 km away, which runs through the mangroves of the area. The beach and the marina are both close, so the morning can begin with a walk along the sand before you head to the trail. Splash Jungle Water Park is also in the same area if you want a different kind of day.
