Chaloklum Bay Resort

Chaloklum Bay Resort has accommodation from standard rooms of 20 m² to a 35 m² honeymoon deluxe and a 35 m² family bungalow. Several rooms have a shower, air conditioning and a TV, and some offer a refrigerator, a bathtub or a seating area, depending on the room.

Beds vary across the rooms: some have a single and a double bed, others a double bed only, and the family bungalow sleeps up to four guests with two single beds and a double bed. Extra beds depend on the room you choose. Rooms are offered in a range of sizes and bed set-ups, from a standard room to a family bungalow, so the choice depends on the size of your group.

The outdoor swimming pool, the spa with sauna and the fitness center sit alongside a 24-hour front desk, room service and a bar. Restaurants, a poolside bar, a coffee shop, BBQ facilities and a vending machine cover meals and snacks.

Activities include boating, diving, snorkelling, fishing and tours, and the resort can arrange car hire, bicycle rental, a shuttle service and a taxi service. Luggage storage, currency exchange and daily housekeeping are offered too.

Families will find a kids club, a playground and a babysitting service. Parking is free on site, with valet parking and parking nearby also available, and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and available in public areas.

Chaloklum is a small bay on Ko Pha-ngan, an island in the Gulf of Thailand with hills, bays and village roads. The bay has a beach a short walk from the resort, with village houses and a pier close by, and the rest of the island can be explored by car, scooter or songthaew. Village life around the bay is low-key, with small shops and food stalls along the road.

Around the bay, Haad Thong Lang is a beach 1.2 km away, and the Wang Sai waterfall lies 1.4 km away. The Phangan Safari zoo is 1.1 km away, and the Wat Pa Sang Tham pagoda, a forest temple, is 2.6 km away. The resort can arrange car hire, bicycle rental and tours for trips further afield.

The coast is good for snorkelling, and diving and boating are offered on the island, so a day on the water is an easy plan from the bay. For a day out, combine the zoo, the waterfall and the pagoda, which are all within a few kilometres of the resort. Because the island has no airport, the ferry or boat from Ko Samui is the last leg for most visitors. Dinner in the village is an easy way to finish the day.
