Kamala is a sandy bay on the Phuket coast, calmer than Patong and with a village atmosphere around its beach. Kamala Beach is 250 m from the resort, and the village has seafood and fruit markets and a night market. Small shops and restaurants line the village streets, so the area feels local rather than purely resort-based. The beach suits a relaxed day in the sun, and the village, with its markets and street life, is a short walk from the resort.

Phuket FantaSea, a cultural theme park with a large evening show, is one of the best-known attractions close to the hotel, and the Tsunami Monument marks the 2004 tsunami that struck Kamala. Patong Beach, with its bars and nightlife, is 5.4 km away, while Wat Chalong, one of the island's most revered temples, is 13.3 km away and the Big Buddha statue on its hill is 14.2 km. Phuket International Airport is 18.3 km away.

A full day could start on Kamala Beach, continue with a visit to Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha, and end with the FantaSea evening show. With the airport and the main sights a drive away, a car or taxi is the simplest way to get around.
