Black Panther Hostel

The rooms at Black Panther Hostel are mixed dormitory rooms with bunk beds and single rooms with single beds, and several of them have a city view. Rooms can have air conditioning, a closet, a desk, an in-room safe box and blackout curtains, and some have a balcony or terrace.

Some rooms also come with towels, a hair dryer and an electric kettle, and a few share a bathroom. Guests can also use the shared lounge and TV area, the bar and the garden.

Black Panther Hostel has a 24-hour front desk, an airport transfer, a shuttle service and a taxi service, and car hire, tours and ticket services can be arranged. Luggage storage, safety deposit boxes and express check-in and check-out are available as well.

For food and drink there is a restaurant, a coffee shop, a bar and a snack bar, with a shared kitchen and a kitchen for guests. Breakfast can be taken to the room, and fruit and snacks are also available.

Free parking is available on site, with bicycle parking and parking nearby. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and Wi-Fi is also available in public areas. There is a laptop workspace, a TV and a shared lounge, and laundry service, a laundromat and daily housekeeping are offered.

Phuket Town, the island's provincial capital, is a different setting from the resort beaches. Its old Sino-Portuguese shophouses and narrow streets form a historic quarter, and the pace is slower and more local than along the coast. Visitors who want to explore the town itself, with its museums, temples and food stalls, will find plenty to do here rather than on the sand. Talang Road, where the hostel stands, is a short walk from much of this.

Close to the hostel, the Phuket Philatelic Museum is 150 m away, a museum devoted to stamps and postal history. Wat Khao Rang Samakkhitham stands on a hill above the town and gives a view over its rooftops. Further afield, Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is one of the island's most revered temples, and Patong Beach, 10.7 km away, is the island's best-known resort strip with a busy nightlife. Phuket International Airport is 26.9 km away.

The Phuket Town Local Bus Station is within a short walk, and for the beaches a rented car or a taxi is the easiest choice, while the town itself is best explored on foot. A good evening starts at the Lard Yai Sunday Night Market, a short walk from the hostel, with food stalls and local goods, and carries on through the old town streets.
