Small shops and street stalls line the roads, and the area suits guests who want a quieter stay on the island.

Wat Chalong, the Chaithararam Temple, is 2.8 km away and the Big Buddha is 3.1 km, both among the best-known sights on the island. Chalong Beach is 900 m away, Kata Beach 4.6 km, and Phuket International Airport 32.4 km. Phuket Botanic Garden, Dolphins Bay Phuket and Chalong Pier, the ferry terminal, are also in the area.

A day could begin at Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha, with the Phuket Botanic Garden also nearby, and continue to Kata Beach in the afternoon. For a quieter stop closer to the inn, Chalong Beach is the nearest beach, and it makes a good end to a day of temple visits at the end of the afternoon. Boat trips from Chalong Pier can be affected by rough seas during the rainy season.
