Beyond Kata

The rooms at Beyond Kata include deluxe and superior rooms, a pool-view room, deluxe rooms with a sea view and seaview suites, with sea, pool or garden views depending on the room. Several have a private bathroom with a shower, and some have a bathtub grab bar, an electric kettle or a hair dryer. Bathrobes, toiletries and towels are provided in several rooms.

Rooms sleep two or three guests, and the resort has restaurants, a bar, a snack bar and room service, with a 24-hour front desk. Food delivery is available too. Breakfast is served in Asian, buffet, vegetarian and Western styles.

Beyond Kata has an outdoor swimming pool, a spa, a fitness centre and a private beach. The restaurants include a poolside bar, a coffee shop, a snack bar and a vegetarian restaurant, and there are room service and food delivery, with a 24-hour front desk.

For children there are a kids club, a playground, a children's swimming pool and a babysitting service. The resort also has an airport transfer, tours, car hire, laundry service, a garden and a terrace, and wheelchair access is available.

Breakfast can be eaten as a buffet, in Asian or Western styles, or taken away, and free parking is available on site. Internet access is available in public areas and for special events.

Kata is a lively beach area on the Andaman side of Phuket, with a long sandy beach, a surf scene and a row of restaurants, shops and bars behind the sand. The resort is next to Kata Beach, and the quieter Kata Noi Beach, a smaller stretch of sand, lies a short distance further along the shore.

Phuket Big Buddha, a large seated statue on a hilltop above Chalong Bay, is 2 km away, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), a well-known Buddhist temple, is 5.4 km away. Karon Beach, the next beach along, is 1.6 km away and is lined with the same mix of restaurants and shops, and the Kata Walking Street Night Market offers evening food and shopping close to the resort.

A good day could start on Kata Beach, continue to the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong in the afternoon, and end at the night market in Kata, where the stalls stay open into the evening. Phuket International Airport is 32.9 km away, and Patong Beach, the resort area known for its nightlife on Bangla Road, is 7.9 km away. Phuket Town, the island's historic centre with its Sino-Portuguese shophouses, is a longer drive away and makes a good half-day trip.
