BanTo Guesthouse

Rooms at BanTo Guesthouse have fans or air conditioning, and several open onto a balcony or terrace. Some rooms have a private bathroom with a shower and a hair dryer, and some have a TV with satellite channels, blackout curtains and a desk. The rooms sleep up to three or four guests.

Extra beds depend on the room you choose, and a baby cot or crib is available on request. Children aged 2 to 4 can stay free using the existing bedding. Wi-Fi is free in all rooms.

BanTo Guesthouse offers free parking, and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms, with Wi-Fi in the public areas as well. The front desk is open 24 hours, and tours and ticket services can be arranged. Dry cleaning and a laundry service are offered, and lockers, luggage storage and safety deposit boxes are available for keeping belongings.

For getting around, there is an airport transfer and a shuttle service. The guesthouse also has restaurants, 24-hour room service and a garden. It is family and child friendly, and babysitting is available for families travelling with young children.

There is also a smoking area on the property. Meals are available from the restaurants or through room service around the clock.

Krabi is a provincial town on the Andaman coast of southern Thailand, and the guesthouse sits in its compact centre, where shophouses, markets and small shrines are close together. The guesthouse is a town base on the mainland rather than a resort on the sand.

A few hundred metres away you will find the City Pillar Shrine, a sacred site in the town centre, and Wat Kaew Korawaram, a Buddhist temple. The Krabi Walking Street, a pedestrian street lined with shops and food stalls, is 450 m from the guesthouse, and Khong Kha Pier, 400 m away, is one of the town's ferry piers. For a longer outing, Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea) is 7.2 km away, a hilltop temple reached by a long climb, and Railay Beach, 10.2 km away, can only be reached by boat, with its limestone cliffs rising from the sea.

Krabi International Airport is 8.3 km away, and the guesthouse offers an airport transfer. A good first day could start with a morning visit to Tiger Cave Temple, followed by an afternoon boat trip to Railay and an evening stroll along the Krabi Walking Street. Boat trips to Railay can be disrupted when the sea is rough in the rainy months.
