Ban Boonchu

The rooms at Ban Boonchu measure 18 and 22 m². Each one has a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, toiletries, towels and a hair dryer, plus a flat-screen TV with satellite and cable channels and an adapter for electrical plugs.

Guests also have the garden, a laundry service and a shared kitchen at their disposal, and room capacity goes up to four guests.

Tha Wa Su Kri is a neighbourhood in the old part of Ayutthaya, and many of the city's ancient temples and ruins are within cycling distance. The Historic City of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its ruins spread across the old town, lies close by, and the streets around the guesthouse feel more like a working Thai town than a resort strip.

The temples are the main draw. Wat Mahathat, 650 m from the guesthouse, is known for a Buddha head caught in the roots of a tree, while Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the former royal temple, is famous for its three large chedis. Further out, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokayasutharam), 2.1 km away, houses a long reclining figure, and Wat Chaiwatthanaram, on the Chao Phraya river, is known for its Khmer-style prang, a tower in the style of Cambodian temples. Ayutthaya Train Station is 1.2 km away, and Don Mueang International Airport is 49.2 km away.

One option for the day is to spend the morning walking or cycling between the ruins, then head out to the Ayothaya Floating Market & Elephant Village, 2.3 km from the guesthouse, which combines a floating market with an elephant village.
