Baan Thara Guesthouse

The guesthouse offers rooms of 19 to 50 m², all with air conditioning and all sleeping up to two guests. Bed set-ups vary from room to room, from a double bed to two single beds, and some rooms have a mountain view.

Several rooms have a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries, and some also have a refrigerator and a desk. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and a few of them have an in-room safe box for valuables.

A 24-hour front desk, room service and daily housekeeping are offered, along with a shuttle service, an airport transfer, tours, car hire, taxi service and ticket services. Luggage storage, safety deposit boxes and a concierge are also available.

Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi province, with limestone cliffs rising above the bay. The guesthouse is in this part of town, with Noppharat Thara Beach 600 m away. In the evening the streets fill with food stalls and the local markets come alive, and the Wednesday Evening Market is 650 m away.

Railay Beach, reached only by boat from the Ao Nang shoreline, is 5.2 km away and is known for its limestone cliffs and caves. Phra Nang Cave lies on the same peninsula. Poda Island, 8.4 km away, is one of the islands reached by longtail boat from the Ao Nang beaches. Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), a hilltop temple near Krabi town, is reached by a long climb of steps, and Krabi International Airport is 20 km away.

A day trip by boat to Railay and Phra Nang Cave is the usual outing from Ao Nang, and the islands nearby make a second day on the water. The temple suits a morning visit, because the climb is long and the views from the top reward the effort. In the evening, a walk along the beach or through the night streets of Ao Nang is a simple end to the day.
