Baan Talay Resort

The bungalows and family rooms at Baan Talay Resort offer pool, beach or garden views in several cases. Rooms can have air conditioning, a desk, an in-room safe box, a mini bar, a coffee and tea maker, and a balcony or terrace, and some have a telephone and a flat-screen TV.

King, queen, double and single beds are available, and several rooms sleep up to three guests while the bungalows sleep two. Families travelling with children will find rooms for up to three, and children aged 2 to 11 can stay free when using existing bedding. Extra beds depend on the room you choose and come at an additional rate, and a baby cot or crib is available on request.

Baan Talay Resort has an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool and a children's swimming pool, plus a garden and a private beach. The 24-hour front desk, a concierge, luggage storage and daily housekeeping are available, and a laundry service is offered too.

Meals are served at the resort's restaurants, with buffet breakfast and continental breakfast, and there is also a bar, a coffee shop and room service.

Tours, car hire and bicycle rental are offered, and there is an airport transfer. A babysitting service is available, and the resort is family and child friendly. English, German, Spanish and Thai are spoken, free parking is available, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

Baan Talay Resort is in Chaweng, one of the busiest areas of Koh Samui, where a long sandy beach runs along the shore and the streets behind it have shops, bars and restaurants. The closest beach is Chaweng Noi Beach, 500 m from the resort, and Chaweng Walking Street, the evening strip of shops and bars, is nearby.

Chaweng Yai Beach is 1.7 km away, and Central Festival Samui, a large shopping centre, is 2 km from the resort. Wat Chaweng, a temple in the Chaweng area, is also close by, and Samui Airport is 3.8 km away. Getting around the island is by road, with taxis and songthaews on the roads, and a car or scooter is useful for reaching the beaches further from the centre.

Koh Samui has its own airport, and the rest of the trip to the resort is by road. For a day out, the Big Buddha, a large seated statue on a hill, is 6.3 km away and can be combined with a visit to Wat Plai Laem, a temple further round the island. Back at the resort, the garden and the pools give you a quieter place to spend the afternoon after a day on the sand.
