Baan Sawhangsilp@Ayutthaya stands in the Tha Wa Su Kri area of Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Siamese kingdom and a UNESCO World Heritage site in central Thailand. The town is known for its ruined temples, its old city walls and the rivers that run through it, and its historic sites are spread across the old town. The sites are spread over a few kilometres, so a visit mixes walking with short trips between the temples and the train station.

Wat Mahathat, about 1.1 km away, is one of the best-known temples in the town, famous for a Buddha head set among the roots of a tree. The Ayothaya Floating Market & Elephant Village is 1.8 km away, and Ayutthaya Train Station is 650 m from the property, with trains running to and from Bangkok. The Chao Phraya River and a ferry pier are within 400 m of the property.

A day here can start at Wat Mahathat, continue to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, once the royal temple of the old capital, and then reach the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, Wat Lokayasutharam. Back at the property, the shared lounge with its large screen and board games is an easy place to end the evening.
