Baan Canalee

The houses and apartments at Baan Canalee measure 50 or 65 m² and come in one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts, sleeping up to five guests. Rooms can have a kitchenette, a coffee or tea maker, a refrigerator, a mini bar and air conditioning.

The rooms can have a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, toiletries and towels, and some have an additional bathroom. Some layouts offer a choice of bed set-ups, and a flat-screen TV with satellite or cable channels is part of several rooms.

Family rooms are available, and the grounds have a garden, a terrace and a playground. Guests can use the shuttle service and an airport transfer, and bicycles are available at the guesthouse. Guests travelling with children will find the family rooms and the playground useful.

Guests can also book a massage, use luggage storage, play darts or try fishing, and tours can be arranged. Pets are allowed on the property.

For meals there is a coffee shop and a snack bar, and guests can use a shared kitchen. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and the public areas have Wi-Fi too. Rooms can also have a coffee or tea maker and an electric kettle.

Baan Canalee is in Han Tra, a residential district of Ayutthaya where small temples, local shops and quiet streets sit between the houses. The guesthouse is on Soi Mu Ban Sri Krung, a side lane off Jedee-Wat Dusit Road, so guests see everyday life in the city alongside its old monuments.

The Ayutthaya Train Station is 850 m away, and Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon, with its large chedi, is 1.2 km away. Wat Mahathat, where a Buddha head sits among tree roots, is 2.5 km away, and the Historic City of Ayutthaya, the UNESCO World Heritage ruins of the former Siamese capital, is 3.3 km away. Wat Chaiwatthanaram, with its tall prang, is 5.5 km away, and a health promoting hospital is also nearby, with the Ayothaya Floating Market & Elephant Village in the neighbourhood.

Ayutthaya is easy to explore on foot or by bicycle between the temples, and bicycles are available at the guesthouse. Because the ruins are spread out, a bicycle makes it easier to see several in one day. The 7-Eleven and an ATM are a few hundred metres away, and free parking on site is available for guests who drive. The short distances between the sights make a full day of sightseeing practical from the guesthouse.
