Klong Muang is a beach area on the Andaman coast of Krabi province, with the resort town of Ao Nang a short drive away. The apartment is on Koh Kwang street, and the sea is close by: Koh Kwang Beach is 250 m away and Klong Muang Beach is 350 m. A hospital, Sathani Anamai Khlong Muang, is 450 m away, which keeps the everyday essentials nearby.

Ao Nang Beach is 7.5 km away, and the longtail boats to Railay Beach, with its limestone cliffs, leave from Ao Nang, since Railay can only be reached by boat. Krabi International Airport is 25.6 km away by road, and Wat Tham Suea, the Tiger Cave Temple, is a hilltop temple reached by a long flight of steps.

A day could start with a swim at Koh Kwang Beach, followed by a boat trip to Poda Island and Tup Island, two islands offshore that are reached by longtail boat. The sea can be rough in the rainy months, and some boats may not run then. The Klong Muang Sunday and Tuesday Market is also nearby, open on those two days of the week, and a night market in Ao Nang offers a different pace after the beach.
