Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi province. Its sandy bay is backed by a beach road, and a pier sends boats to the islands and limestone bays along the coast. The beach strip is lively in the evenings, and Areetara Resort is 270 m from the sand, so a swim is easy to fit into any day.
Street-food stalls and massage shops line the beach road, and the Ao Nang Night Market is close by, with food stalls and shops that open in the evening. Railay Beach, 3.6 km away, can only be reached by longtail boat, and its limestone cliffs and Phra Nang Cave lie on the peninsula beyond. Day trips to the Hong Islands are another popular choice from the coast, and they leave from the same piers as the boats to the bays.
