Railay Beach, 4 km away, is reached by longtail boat, with limestone cliffs rising above the sand. Poda Island and Tup Island are popular day trips by boat from the pier, which is the usual way to reach the islands. A day could start on Ao Nang Beach, continue by longtail boat to Railay or Poda Island, and end with a walk through the night market. In the rainy months, rough seas can stop boat trips.
