The Big Buddha, a large seated Buddha statue, is 6 km away, and the Samui Institute of Thai Culinary Arts, a cookery school, is close by. Ko Samui Hospital is also close by, and so is a pharmacy.

A full day could start with a swim at Chaweng Noi Beach, continue with a visit to the Big Buddha, and end with dinner and a drink in the bars and restaurants of Chaweng. Central Festival Samui is a good stop for shopping in the afternoon, and the Na Muang Waterfall, in the island's interior, is a different kind of outing. The Night Market, a local evening market, is a short trip from the resort, and the walking street and street-food stalls are part of the everyday life of the beach area.
