Amari Koh Samui

Rooms at Amari Koh Samui look onto the garden, the pool or the ocean. The rooms all have a private bathroom with a shower, and they come with bathrobes, a hair dryer and an electric kettle, while some also have a bathtub. The rooms sit in separate buildings on both sides of Chaweng Beach Road, with the garden and Thai Village wings on one side and the Beach Wing on the other.

The Junior Suite Ocean View measures 55 m² and has an ocean view. The 49 m² Deluxe Family room sleeps up to four guests, and the Deluxe Pool View King measures 39 m² with a pool view. The Superior Garden Wing King and the Superior Pool Side King both measure 41 m² and sleep up to three guests.

Guests can use an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa with massage and sauna, and a solarium, and there are billiards and table tennis for leisure time. Water activities include diving, snorkelling, canoeing and non-motorised water sports.

Families have a kids club, a playground, a children's swimming pool and a babysitting service. Dining options include restaurants with Asian and international cuisine, a coffee shop, a poolside bar, a halal restaurant and room service.

Chaweng is the liveliest stretch of Koh Samui's east coast, a long bay of sand with a strip of bars, restaurants and shops running behind it. Amari Koh Samui is on Chaweng-Cheongmon Road, and its rooms sit in buildings on both sides of Chaweng Beach Road. The garden and Thai Village wings are across the road from the Beach Wing, so the resort keeps its own gardens and pool while the evening life of the bay is close by, and Chaweng Yai Beach is 1.1 km away.

Within a few kilometres of the resort are the Walking street, a pedestrian strip of shops and bars, and Samui Airport, which is 1.4 km away. The Big Buddha, a large seated statue at Wat Phra Yai, is 3.9 km away, and Na Muang Waterfall in the island's interior is 11.3 km away. Car hire and taxi service are available for trips further afield.

A full day could take in the Big Buddha and a visit to Na Muang Waterfall, with the evening spent on the Walking street or in the bars along Chaweng Yai Beach. Trips around the island are made by road, so the car hire and taxi service on site are useful.
