Haad Yao is a small beach bay on Ko Pha-ngan, with the sand about 50 m from the resort. It suits a beach holiday more than a town stay: the sea and the gardens are the centre of the day, and the rest of the island is reached by road.
Within a short distance you find Salad Beach, 1.1 km away, a sandy bay on the same coast, and the Wang Sai waterfall, 2.6 km inland. Ao Chaloklum Bay, 4.2 km away, is a village bay with a small harbour, and Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach lies further along the island road.
