Rooms at Akanak Resort can include air conditioning, a shower, bathrobes, a mini bar, free bottled water and a balcony or terrace. The Deluxe room measures 38 m² and sleeps up to three guests, and it has a TV with satellite and cable channels, a DVD/CD player and a mirror.

Children aged 2 to 12 can stay free of charge when using the existing bedding, and infants aged 0 to 1 can do the same. An extra bed carries an additional charge, and extra beds depend on the room you choose.

Akanak Resort is in Ban Tha Len, an area of Krabi Province in southern Thailand where the mangroves, beaches and limestone islands of the Andaman coast are the main draw. The area mixes village life with hills and mangrove waterways, and most of its appeal lies in days spent on the water. Roads are the way in from the airport, so guests who drive can use the paid parking on site.

The Ao Thalane mangrove forest can be explored by kayak from a spot 1000 m away, and the Khao Thong Viewpoint, on a hill, is 3.6 km away. Silanto beach is 4.9 km away, while Ao Nang Beach, a lively beach with restaurants and boat trips, is 14.4 km away. Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea) is a hillside temple reached by a long climb, and Krabi International Airport is 26.4 km away.

A good day could begin with a kayak paddle through the mangroves, followed by the viewpoint in the afternoon and a visit to Tiger Cave Temple. From Ao Nang, longtail boats reach Railay Beach and the cliffs around Phra Nang Cave, and the Hong Islands are reached by boat as well. Boat trips can be stopped by rough seas, mostly in the rainy months.
