Aenguy Hostel

Guests can book a bed in a mixed dormitory room of 18 m², or a double room of 9 m² with a king bed, or a double or twin room of 9 m² with two single beds. One room is assigned to you when you arrive.

The rooms have air conditioning, towels, toiletries and linen, and the bathrooms are shared with other guests. Daily housekeeping is also provided across the hostel, and the shared lounge is a place to relax between outings.

The hostel has an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a garden and a terrace, and a shared lounge with a TV area. Guests can use the lockers and luggage storage, and the hostel provides daily housekeeping, ironing and laundry service.

For meals and drinks there is a coffee shop and room service. The business centre has Xerox and fax facilities, and the hostel also has meeting and banquet facilities. The garden is part of the grounds, so there is a green place to sit between outings.

Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and in the public areas, where internet services are also available. Parking is free, non-smoking rooms are available, and the public area has air conditioning.

Aenguy Hostel stands on Jarod Witi Thong Road in the town of Sukhothai, in northern Thailand. The town is a quiet provincial centre with Buddhist temples, markets and a bus terminal, and it is a practical place to stay for visitors who want to see the historic sites nearby. The ruins of the Sukhothai kingdom, often seen as the first Thai capital, lie outside the modern town and draw travellers who come for history rather than beaches.

The Wat Thai Chumphon pagoda is 250 m from the hostel and the Public Market 2 is 450 m away, so snacks and everyday supplies are easy to pick up on the way back from sightseeing. Other places in the area include the Sangkhalok Museum, which shows ceramics linked to the Sukhothai region, and Chaloem Phra Kiat Park, a green space for walks. The Sukhothai Bus Terminal is also in the area for onward journeys by bus.

A day at Sukhothai Historical Park, about 12.5 km from the hostel, is the main outing from here, with temple ruins and restored monuments spread over a large site. In the evening, the walking street and night market in town offer street food and simple shopping, and the hostel's garden and shared lounge make a quiet place to rest afterwards.
