After dark the neighbourhood has a relaxed feel, with bars and street-food stalls spilling onto the pavements, and the old city's sights are all within a few kilometres.

Khao San Road is 500 m away. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) and the Grand Palace are both in the old city, and the Grand Palace is 1.4 km from the hotel. Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall spire on the Thonburi bank of the river, is 2.1 km away, and Wat Phra Chetuphon, also known as Wat Pho, is nearby as well. Many of these sights can be reached on foot.

A day here can begin at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, continue along the river to Wat Pho and Wat Arun, and end with dinner and a drink on Khao San Road. The river is close enough for the afternoon to include a crossing to the Thonburi side.
