WaterMellow Hostel

The rooms at WaterMellow Hostel are mixed dormitories, and the room described here has a bunk bed and a sea view. Rooms can have air conditioning, blackout curtains, a fan, a desk, an in-room safe box and a socket near the bed, and the shared bathroom has a shower and toiletries.

Linens, an electric kettle, a coffee and tea maker, free bottled water and a dining table are also available to guests.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and in the public areas, and parking is free. The hostel has a games room, on-site entertainment, a shared lounge with TV and a terrace, and restaurants and a happy hour are offered as well.

For time on the water, the hostel offers diving, snorkelling and fishing. Guests can also use the laundry service, the safety deposit boxes and a cash withdrawal service, and the languages spoken include English.

Air conditioning is also in the public areas, and there is a smoking area. Pets are allowed, and the terrace gives guests an open-air place to sit between activities on the island, and the shared lounge is a quiet place to relax in the evening.

Mae Haad is the ferry village of Ko Tao, where boats from the mainland and Koh Samui arrive at the pier, and its streets are lined with dive schools, small shops and food stalls. WaterMellow Hostel sits in this village with the beach 30 m away and the pier close by, so the lively streets are easy to reach on foot. A convenience store, a pharmacy and a hospital are all in the village too.

Haad Ao Mae beach is 150 m away, and Sairee Beach, the island's best-known beach, is 750 m along the coast. Koh Nang Yuan, a small island with clear water for snorkelling, lies 3.9 km away and is reached by boat. The reefs around it are teeming with colourful fish, so the area suits snorkellers as well as divers.

Diving and snorkelling are the main things to do around Ko Tao, and dive schools and boat trips are part of everyday life in the village. A good day can start with a snorkel trip to Koh Nang Yuan and end with a walk along Sairee Beach at sunset. The viewpoint on Sairee Beach and Koh Nang Yuan, 1.7 km away, is a good place to look over both.
