Asiatique The Riverfront, 1.9 km away, is a riverside shopping and dining complex, while Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, sits on the same bank at 2.7 km. Wat Thong Phleng pagoda and the King Taksin Monument, which honours the king who made Thonburi his capital, are both nearby at 700 m.

A good day can combine the riverside temples with an evening at Asiatique, then a trip across the river to The Grand Palace, 3.3 km away on the opposite bank. In the evening, the surrounding streets fill with local life and food stalls. The streets on this bank have a more local feel than the tourist core across the water, and a second skytrain stop, Krung Thon Buri Station, is also close by for travel into the city centre.
