Phuket FantaSea, an evening theme park with theatre shows and dining, is 6 km away, and Patong Beach, the island's busiest beach, is 10.8 km. The Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is 17.4 km away and is one of Phuket's most important Buddhist temples, while the hilltop Big Buddha Phuket is one of the island's best-known landmarks.

A day could start at Bang Tao Beach and end at the Bang Tao Night Market, with a visit to Wat Chalong or the Big Buddha in between. Phuket International Airport is the nearest airport, and Phuket is reached by road, so a car makes the trips around the island easier. For everyday needs, a convenience store is close by, and a hospital is nearby in Thalang. Big Buddha Phuket and Wat Chalong can be combined in a single day out.
