VELA be Bangkok Siam

The rooms at VELA be Bangkok Siam measure between 20 and 36 m², and each one sleeps up to two guests. The beds are king beds or pairs of single beds, so couples and friends travelling together can both choose the layout they prefer.

It stands on Soi Kasem San 3 in the Wang Mai district, and the Jim Thompson House Museum, the former home of the Thai silk entrepreneur, is in the same neighbourhood. The mix of department stores, street-level shops and office towers gives the area a busy urban character, quite different from the old city across the river.

National Stadium BTS Station is 300 m from the hotel and Ratchathewi BTS Station is 550 m, so the skytrain is the simplest way to reach Siam Paragon and MBK Center. For the temples, the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in the old city are 3.9 km away, and Wat Arun stands on the river beyond them. Asiatique, a riverfront shopping complex, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market are farther away again, and both are worth a dedicated trip.

A good day starts at the Jim Thompson House Museum, then continues to the Ban Krua Silk Factory, a silk weaving workshop in the nearby Ban Krua community. From there, Siam Paragon and MBK Center are an easy stop for shopping, and in the evening the riverfront at Asiatique is a good place to finish the day.
