Bo Phut is a fishing village on the coast of Koh Samui, with a pier on the waterfront, a beach and a walking street of shops around Fisherman's Village. After dark the walking street fills with stalls and small shops, and the seafront is a pleasant place for a walk. It is a relaxed base for anyone who wants to be near the sea, with the island's airport and main roads a short drive away.

Bo Phut Beach is 100 m away, and the larger beaches are further along the coast, with Chaweng Noi Beach at 5.8 km. Inland, Big Buddha is a large seated Buddha statue on a hilltop, 2.5 km away, and Wat Plai Laem, 3.1 km away, is a temple with a large Guanyin statue beside a lake. Samui Airport, 2.8 km away, is the island's own airport, so the last part of any journey to Koh Samui is by road.

A day could start with a swim at Bo Phut Beach and an evening stroll through Fisherman's Village, then continue to the Big Buddha and Wat Plai Laem in the afternoon, with a drive of a few kilometres in between. The walk back along the seafront is short, so the evening can finish close to the property.
