U Place Bangkok

The rooms at U Place Bangkok include studios, one-bedroom apartments and a suite. Air conditioning is fitted in the studios, the apartments and the Standard Room. Visitors come here mainly for the palaces and temples of the historic core.

Khao San Road is 850 m away, a street known for its guesthouses, bars and street-food stalls. The Grand Palace is 2 km from the hotel, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) stands inside its complex. Across the Chao Phraya, Wat Arun is a riverside temple with a tall prang, and the Wat Mai Amatarot pagoda and the Na Krung Thewes market are both within walking distance of the hotel.

A day could begin at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, cross the river to Wat Arun, and end on Khao San Road in the evening. Longer trips across the city are best made by taxi. The airports are farther out: Don Mueang International Airport is 19.8 km away and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 28.1 km, so allow extra time for the journey from either one.
