Bangrak is one of the city's oldest districts, and the Chao Phraya river runs along its edge.

The Skytrain is the simplest way to get around from here, and it links the area to the shopping districts of central Bangkok. Chong Nonsi BTS station is 150 m away, and Saint Louis station on the same Silom Line is a little further on. Oriental Pier, 1.9 km away on the Chao Phraya river, is one of the river piers in Bang Rak, and the Assumption Cathedral, a landmark church in the same district, is nearby.

A good first day could start at the Grand Palace, 5.1 km away, with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha inside the same complex, and then continue to the Asiatique riverfront on the Chao Phraya. For a different pace, Chatuchak Weekend Market, 8.6 km away, is a large market that is best visited at the weekend. Lalai Sap Market, a small local market close to the hotel, is a good place to see everyday life in the area.
