Theppahrak Hostel Khaolak

The rooms at Theppahrak Hostel Khaolak are dormitory beds in mixed, female-only and shared dormitories, measuring 12 to 19 m². Each room has one to three bunk beds, and some rooms have a mountain or city view. Some rooms are female-only, and the mixed dormitories are open to guests of any gender.

Rooms can have air conditioning, a locker, a hair dryer, complimentary tea, a refrigerator and a balcony or terrace. Some rooms have a private bathroom with a shower, and some have a bathtub. Towels, toiletries and linens are provided in several of the rooms, and the rooms with a balcony or terrace have space to sit outside.

Guests have a shared lounge and TV area, a shared kitchen, lockers and luggage storage. Lockers are provided for belongings, and security is provided around the clock, with CCTV covering the common areas.

Transport help includes tours, an airport transfer, a shuttle service, a taxi service and bicycle rental. Free parking is available on site, and valet parking is also offered. Bicycle rental is available for getting around the area at your own pace, and the hostel's shuttle service can help with trips further afield.

Laundry service and daily housekeeping are offered, and the property is smoke-free. The staff speak English, and CCTV also covers the outside of the property.

Theppahrak Hostel Khaolak is in Bang Niang, a part of Khao Lak on Thailand's Andaman coast in Phangnga province. The area mixes beaches, small hotels and local markets, and the hills and forest of the national park lie a few kilometres away. Khao Lak is also a common departure point for trips to the Similan Islands, which are reached by boat from the mainland. Street-food stalls and massage shops are common along the roads in the area.

The International Tsunami Museum is 100 m away, and the Tsunami Memorial is close by. Bangnieng Afternoon Market is 250 m from the hostel, Bang Niang Beach is 1 km away and Khuk Khak Beach is 1.7 km away. The memorial and museum recall the 2004 tsunami that struck this coast, and they are a short distance from the hostel.

Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, 4.7 km away, has forest trails and waterfalls, and Ton Chong Fa Waterfall is also in the hills nearby. Several beaches lie within a few kilometres of the hostel, so a day can start at the Tsunami Museum, continue to the market and the beach, and end with a walk on the forest trails of the national park.
