The Yama Hotel Phuket

The bay suits a relaxed beach holiday, and the rest of the island is easy to reach by road from here, with Phuket Town and the bridge to the mainland both a drive away.

Kata Beach is 1.2 km away, and Big Buddha Phuket, a large white statue on a hilltop, is 900 m from the hotel. Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is 4.2 km away and is one of Phuket's best-known Buddhist temples. Karon Beach is 1.9 km away, a longer sandy bay with a broad stretch of sand, and Phuket International Airport is 32.4 km away.

A good day could start with the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong in the morning and end on the sand at Kata or Karon in the afternoon. For a second day, Nai Harn Beach is a wide bay with a lagoon behind the sand, and Patong has nightlife on Bangla Road for evenings out. Back in Kata, the street-food stalls and massage shops along the beach road give the bay a lively feel after sunset, and both Nai Harn and Patong are reached by road from the hotel.
