Patong Beach, the busiest of the resort beaches, is 19.9 km away, and the Big Buddha is a large seated statue on a hilltop 28.8 km away. Those distances mean a car or a taxi is useful for longer trips, and the sunset viewpoint is close by for a stop at the end of the day. Wat Chalong, one of the best-known temples on the island, is 26.9 km away. Patong has the island's busiest nightlife, while the Naiyang area stays quieter in the evenings, so an evening out in Patong means a longer journey.
