The Supara

The Supara has studios and apartments with one or two bedrooms, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. Capacity runs from two to five guests, from a couple to a group of five, and bedding depends on the room, from a queen bed to a choice of bed set-ups.

The Supara stands in Thonburi, on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, along Isaraphab Road in the Wat Tha Phra area. The neighbourhood is residential, with narrow lanes running off the main road, and the river is a short ride away for guests who want to see the old city across the water.

Charan 13 MRT station is about 600 m away, and Itsaraphap station lies a little further on, so the metro is an easy way into the rest of the city. Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall porcelain prang, is 1.5 km from the hotel on the Thonburi bank, while the Grand Palace is 1.9 km away and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha sits within its grounds. Wat Phra Chetuphon, the reclining Buddha temple also known as Wat Pho, is in the same part of the old city. Wat Arun Pier, a short walk from the temple, is the river crossing for ferries to the old city, and it is a good place to watch the boats on the Chao Phraya.

A good day could start at Wat Arun, cross the river by ferry to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, and finish on Khaosan Road, 3 km from the hotel, with its bars, street food and guesthouses.
