Hua Lamphong MRT station is 200 m away, and the railway station is next to it. Wat Traimit, home to the Golden Buddha statue, is 150 m away, and the Yaowarat Chinatown Heritage Center is close by on the same streets. Further afield, the Grand Palace is 2.9 km away and Khaosan Road is 3 km away, both in the old city.

A good day starts at Wat Traimit and continues along Yaowarat Road in the evening, when the food stalls open. For temples and palaces, the Grand Palace and Wat Arun across the river are the big draws, and the area is best explored on foot, with Hua Lamphong station close by for onward journeys by train to the riverside temples and the old city.
