It is a neighbourhood for travellers who want to be away from the busiest tourist streets while staying well connected to the rest of the city by Skytrain.

The Bang Chak BTS station is 450 m away and On Nut BTS station is a little further on, so the Skytrain is the simplest way to reach the wider city. Nearby are the On Nut Fresh Market, 1.1 km away, and the Wat Bunrot Thammaram temple, while the Phra Khanong Market is a little further out. Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre, is 9 km away, and Suvarnabhumi Airport lies 15.9 km out of town. At rush hour the traffic on the main road can be heavy, so the Skytrain is often quicker.

The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho) and Wat Arun are all in the historic old city, and the Jim Thompson House, a well-known house museum, is a good addition to that day. For the evening, Asiatique The Riverfront is a riverside night market and dining complex, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market is worth a weekend morning.
