For a day out, a good plan is an early swim on Karon Beach, then a visit to the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong in the afternoon. In the evening, Karon's night markets are close enough to walk to from the hotel, and the Phuket FantaSea theme park lies 11.5 km away. All of these sights are a short trip from the hotel, and a longer day can take in Kata Beach, the next bay along the coast, which is easy to reach from Karon.
