The Outdoor Kata Hotel

Rooms at The Outdoor Kata Hotel run from a twin room for two guests to a family room that sleeps up to nine. Several rooms measure 28 m², and the Deluxe Family room measures 40 m² and sleeps up to five. Most rooms have air conditioning, and several of them have a private bathroom with a hair dryer, toiletries and towels.

The Outdoor Kata Hotel is 250 m from Kata Beach, and the Kata Walking Street Night Market is right by the hotel, so an evening stroll starts at the door. Cafés, small restaurants and shops line the streets behind the sand.

The Big Buddha sits on a hill near Chalong, a large white statue visible from afar, 1.7 km from the hotel. Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is one of the island's most important Buddhist temples, 4.9 km away. Karon Beach is the next bay along, while Patong Beach, the busiest nightlife area on the island, is 6.9 km away. Getting around usually means a taxi, a songthaew or a hire car, and Phuket International Airport is 31.9 km away by road.

A good day out is to visit the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong in the morning, then return to Kata for the beach and the evening market. Phuket FantaSea, an evening cultural show park in Kamala, makes a different kind of night out, and Patong is the place to go if you want to see the island's busiest nightlife.
